
We are introducing Yoga classes by working in partnership with the highly experienced yoga professional, Jane Aldiss. Her monthly classes will improve well-being, suppleness and inspire a new approach to managing your life, accessing your innate potential, and increasing clarity, balance and effectiveness by giving you daily practice to do at home between sessions.
Jane teaches from 25 years of experience in body based therapies and movement, as well as 20 years of working therapeutically both in groups and individually. She was a professional shiatsu practitioner between 1988 and 93, has practiced yoga since 1990, taught from 1999, and has had an established meditation practice since 2007. Her way of teaching evolves from all of these experiences, as well as from her willingness to engage fully with life (she is a keen traveller, and has been to India, Italy and Greece to work with highly renowned teachers, and continues to study for her own continuing personal development).
Jane trained in visual diagnosis with her shiatsu training. This, together with her thorough knowledge of anatomy, and understanding of how the mind affects the body, gives her powerful tools to facilitate each person to connect with their own meaningful and transformative experience, on whichever level, mind, body, or inner being, is appropriate to each individual. It is her ability to be able to see in this way that makes her approach unique.
Jane teaches yoga not simply as a form of physical exercise, but as a complete method of connecting to ones inner peace, strength and knowing. She does not teach by instruction, rather, addresses the needs of each person, and both in a class situation, and one to one, through mindfulness of breath, movement and awareness.
Working in this way brings about a sense of calm, connection and wellbeing. Physical and structural problems can be addressed with lasting results, and an overall improvement in quality of life can be experienced.
