The Young Carers project at Princess Royal Trust Carers Service are very grateful for the incredible residential trip we experienced at Longridge in August.

It was fantastic for us, as staff, to share so many great activities and watch the young people thoroughly enjoy themselves.

But what makes for a 'special' day is the fantastic instructors you have.
 
It was the first experience with water activities for many of the boys who visited you on Sunday. You wouldn't have thought so when after a few minutes they have the confidence to not only join-in but really enjoy the activities. One parent told me yesterday that she had heard her son on the phone to his grandpa saying this was "one of his best days ever!!!"

The instructors are enthusiastic and caring, and encourage those that are scared or apprehensive; we had a fantastic time when we visited and took home some very happy and proud guides who, because of their achievements were walking "ten foot tall".

Our pupils and staff had a great time at Longridge. It was really refreshing to visit a centre that has struck such a good balance between the need to keep kids safe while letting them push boundaries and experience new things. Your staff are professional yet laid back and relaxed, helpful and child friendly. The resources you provide are spot on and the kids loved them all - the assault course was a major hit and really brought out their team working skills. And the leap of faith was simply awesome, I personally will never forget being able to help one of our pupils overcome her fears, get onto the platform and to make the leap...a real career highpoint for me.
