Every year we train 17+ young people to train to be outdoor activity instructors. This year we have received funding through the Government Future Jobs Scheme and anybody interested in training to be an instructor should register with their local job centre for Future Jobs and the job centre will forward your application to us. Alternatively, you can seek your own funding for the course.
At the end of the training programme if you train hard you could achieve vocational BCU and RYA qualifications, as well as be trained Bell Boat, Dragon Boat and climbing instructors.
Trainees don't need any qualifications but do need to be able to work with young people and be confident around water.
The positions can be residential and we provide full board. If you are considering a career in the outdoor industry or are between education/jobs and are interested in working in an activity centre, contact our Activities Director, Mark Campbell and tell him why we should train you. mark.campbell@longridge-uk.org
